2) How soon can I walk on my carpet after it’s cleaned?

Keep pets, children and regular traffic off of the carpet for a period of 6 hours. Light foot traffic is permitted immediately after cleaning when wearing the plastic booties we provide. Some carpets may still feel slightly damp for up to 24 hours depending on carpet, soiling condition and weather. This is normal.

Wait 24 hours before removing the protective foam blocks and plastic tabs from your furniture.

3) Do you move the furniture?

Yes, our regular pricing includes moving sofas, chairs, tables, end tables, etc. However, beds, entertainment centers, and heavier pieces are left in place due to liability issues.

4) Can you clean carpet or rugs over hardwood floors?

Yes, our ADVANCED PLUS™ cleaning system is set up so that the backing of the carpet or rug is never saturated, and therefore doesn’t present a problem for wood floors underneath. Oriental rugs and all woven rugs should be cleaned by hand at our site for the best results. Learn more about our rug cleaning services here.

5) Do you clean Berber?

Absolutely. Berber is a weave, and not a particular type of fabric. It is a type of loop construction that may come in olefin, nylon, wool, or a blend. Berber requires a more thorough cleaning than other carpets because the “flushing” action needs to take place to get under, around, and through the loops. Our ADVANCED PLUS cleaning system easily cleans Berber, removing soil that would otherwise “wick” back to the surface with other cleaning methods. When we clean your Berber, it stays clean.

6) Do you clean Sisal, Sea Grass, and Grass?

Yes, however each of these rugs is unique and should be evaluated individually. The sisal rugs are not made to be cleaned, and results are limited, varying with each rug. Hot water extraction can cause shrinkage, discoloration, or even water rings. Please call us to set up an evaluation for your rug.

7) Do you clean Wool?

Yes, we clean wool often, and have cleaned it for over thirty years! We use our ADVANCED PLUS cleaning system, which uses special products and a lower temperature, lower pressure wash, along with a special low PH- rinsing surfactant. Special concern is also given to drying time when we clean your wool carpets or fabrics.

10) What is the best carpet cleaning method?

There are several cleaning methods, but two of the basics are the dry and wet methods:

The term dry cleaning method is misleading, since all cleaning methods use some amount of water. This method also has no similarity to the dry cleaning method used to clean clothing. One of the more popular dry methods used is referred to as dry-chem or encapsulation, where a cleaning product is sprayed onto the carpet and then wiped up with an absorbent pad or cotton bonnet using a rotary type floor machine. This method is a surface, or maintenance, method of cleaning. The benefit of this method is that it dries in 1- 3 hours. The downside of this method is that it leaves a residue.

The most popular wet cleaning method is known as steam cleaning or hot water extraction. A powerful truck-mounted hot water extraction unit (the preferred cleaning method and the one that we use as part of our ADVANCED PLUS cleaning process) with a large, powerful unit mounted in a truck or van. In this process, a cleaner is applied to the carpet, and then rinsed out with very hot soft water. Once heated up to 120 degrees, water doubles its power to clean with every 15-17 degree temperature rise, making it a very aggressive cleaner. The rinsing temperature can be adjusted to between 120 to 240 degrees, depending on the type of carpet and soiling conditions.

Benefits of steam cleaning (vs. dry cleaning):

  • Uses hot water instead of harmful chemicals
  • Cleans thoroughly to carpet backing
  • Removes dirt, harmful bacteria, fungus, chemicals, pollens, and tobacco residue
  • Leaves no residue
  • Dries quickly (carpet doesn’t get over wet)

Our ADVANCED PLUS cleaning method is recommended by the largest carpet manufacturer in the world, Shaw Carpet Industries, as well as by most other large carpet manufacturers like DuPont, to honor their warranties. This method is also recommended by the IICRC (Institute for Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification), the CFI (California Fabric Institute), and the WFCA (World Floor Covering Association), all of which we are members.
